Wildlife Awareness

Various types of wildlife, big and small, may be found on and around this campground. Be alert and give them distance and respect. Keep dogs on a leash at all times, and properly store food, trash and cooking supplies. Your safety, and the future of wildlife depend on you.

Cancellation Policy

Need to Cancel? If you need to cancel your reservation, please call 252-591-3204 before the deadlines listed below to receive your deposit refund, minus a $10 cancellation fee. Text and email notifications of cancellations are not acceptable.

RV and Tent Sites: 48 hours cancellation notice is required. Notify your KOA by 4 p.m. two days before your scheduled arrival.
Camping Cabins: 7 days cancellation notice required. Please notify your KOA one week before your scheduled arrival.
Deluxe Cabins and Vacation Suites: 14 day cancellation notice is required. Notify your KOA by 4 p.m. two weeks prior to scheduled arrival.

Reservations made after these deadlines require nonrefundable deposits. Cancellations made after deadlines will result in forfeiture of all deposits.

Holidays and special events may have special deposit and/or cancellation requirements. Special conditions may apply during high-demand periods and special events. Please call 252-591-3204 for details.

Golf Cart Policy

Guests are allowed to bring their own golf carts.

Only licensed drivers are allowed to drive any motorized vehicles within the campground property. Be advised that unless your golf cart is street legal per North Carolina rules, it is not allowed on Highway 12 or on sidewalks outside of the campground. If it is street legal and you go off property, be sure the driver has a valid drivers license on them. Our golf cart rentals are not street legal and are not allowed off property. Any golf carts driven after dark must have headlights.

Pet Policy

Well behaved pets are welcome and are to be leashed at all times. Clean up after them. No pets in buildings or Pool area. Pet Friendly Deluxe and Camping cabins are available. There is a $25 fee/pet per stay for Deluxe cabins and a $10 fee/pet per stay for Camping cabins.

KOA Pet Policy

Number of Guests per Reservation:

For the safety and enjoyment of all guests, strict limits are enforced on the number of people who may be at the campground per each reservation. 
  • At check-in, you will be asked to verify the number of guests staying at your site.  
  • A limit of 6 or 8 people per site (depending on site type) will be enforced.  That total number includes both the number of people on your reservation and any day visitors.  If you have the maximum number of people on your reservation, day visitors are not allowed.

  • RV and Tent sites are limited to 6 people per site.
  • Camping Cabins, Deluxe Cabins, and other Lodging are limited to 6 people with exception of the Deluxe Cabins which sleep 8, these are limited to 8 people. 

  • If the number of overnight guests on your reservation allows for day visitors, those day visitors must check in at the front desk upon arrival. Your visitors are welcome for $10 per additional guest. Visiting guests are permitted until Quiet Hours and must adhere to campground rules. Should day visitors turn into overnight guests, they must register at the front desk.

    Trash Policy

    Leave trash in a tied plastic garage bag outside your site, and we will pick it up in the morning. Please do not leave trash out overnight.

    WiFi: Free WiFi is available throughout the campground. The strongest signal is in our Cafe/Lounge area in the main building.

    Russ Gibbons

    Welcome to Cape Hatteras/Outer Banks KOA Resort!

    Russ Gibbons is happy to be back on the East Coast as the General Manager of Cape Hatteras/Outer Banks KOA Resort.

    Russ, and his wife Betsy, began their “yellow shirt” career at the Philadelphia South/Clarksboro KOA Holiday and then moved to the Okeechobee KOA Resort, where eventually Russ became the Operations Manager. In March 2021, the Lake Conroe/Houston North KOA Holiday welcomed Russ as General Manager before their move west to the Tucson/Lazydays KOA Resort. Now back to the East Coast, Cape Hatteras/Outer Banks KOA Resort is excited to welcome Russ and Betsy on their latest adventure! Russ and Betsy are excited about this new opportunity.
